Ottoman sofa bed

The first part of the office 'upgrade' is complete with the arrival of our ottoman sofa bed this week. I was a bit nervous about purchasing a custom-made piece of furniture on eBay, but the experience with Sydney Lounge Specialist was wonderful. We weren't quite happy with the standard Wortley and Warwick fabrics offered by the store, so after two rounds of samples in the mail we settled on Wortley 'Hustle' fabric in Carbon colour.

The sofa was made in Sydney from sustainable Tasmanian pine, and includes a ten-year warranty on both the timber frame and the foam. We paid extra to get an inner-spring mattress instead of a standard foam one, and the trampoline base also includes timber slats for extra support, so our visitors should have no reason to complain.

I couldn't resist buying some new cushions to celebrate. These are all from Target, who really seem to have stepped up in the homewares department.

I'll add more photos in the coming weeks when the room is a little tidier!

  1. This looks fantastic. I might have to look at them when I change that old spare bed in the study. I got rid of the old sofa bed and the single bed is in there now.

Your old futon had seen better days!!

Can't wait to see what the whole room will look like when you are finished with the update...T

  2. I am intrigued and I cannot wait to see photos of the ottoman in context!

  3. Oh ... fancy! The sofa bed is looking very nice indeed ... and the cushions add a lovely finishing touch.

Gosh! I'm so far behind on your news, but I'm now finally caught up on your recent blog posts ... next stop will be sending a proper email your way. I'm really looking forward to getting back on our dinner date schedule and catching up properly. xx

PS. I think Jones wanted to say hello to you because he just walked across the keyboard ... This is what he wrote: vccccccccc ... I'm sure that means something very nice in cat language. ;)

  4. I found your ottoman beds attractive and perfect for bedroom furniture range that includes storage beds, double ottoman beds, divan beds, and luxury ottoman beds.

  5. I liked the variety and creativity of yours that is invested and beautifully shown in your post. Thanks for this nice post from Corporate Gifts Singapore.

  6. Furniture arrived on time, well packaged, and free of damage. Excellent product for the price. Looks great in our screened-in porch. Look forward to sitting, and gathering on our new patio sofa and chairs.

  7. I, like another reviewer, was pleasantly surprised. Although I was bit hesitant about purchasing a sofa online, without ever having seen it in person, I decided to throw caution to the wind and proceed with the purchase. The small sofa product arrived relatively quickly; about one week. When I saw the three boxes that arrived, I got a bit nervous thinking there was no way the two bigger boxes housed a full size couch (The third, smaller box held the ottoman). But much to my dismay, and due to some very clever packaging, the boxes indeed held a full-size sectional. After some assembly - about 30 minutes worth - blossomed a lovely sofa. In terms of quality and assembly, think: a step or two above Ikea. (For $500.00 you can't go wrong) I posted some pictures so that anyone thinking of buying the sofa would get a better idea of what the sectional looks like (Purple and grey room). In terms of size/scale, it is currently in my living room which is 19' x 11'.
