Shopping up a storm

One rainy day last week I made a lunchtime trek into the city with the intention on buying one or two extra Christmas presents for John from Typo. My mission was a success! But, I also successfully spent a whole heap more money on stuff for myself. Some of it was stuff that I 'needed', like this stainless steel water bottle.

And then there was the stuff I'd intended to buy for myself at some stage anyway, like the matching measuring spoons to accompany my matryoshka measuring cups.

And then there was super-expensive washi tape, which is 'essential' for the wrapping of Christmas presents. As you can see, I've already commenced this process. Mr bunny is looking on in horror.

I also found these cute little Scrabble tile canvases and couldn't resist. John doesn't know about these yet. Surprise!

It's no wonder that Typo don't have an online store. Much like Ikea, they rely on suckers like me to walk in with the intention of buying one thing and walk out with half the store...

  1. Clever of them indeed! And they would have benefited from the rainy day - I always buy more on a rainy day than a sunny one - like I'm trying to fill a void.

Love the scrabble tiles, good choice and totally a necessary purchase!

  4. I love the Scrabble tiles! They don't have Typo in WA for some reason, although Cotton On is pretty ubiquitous. I did go into a Typo store when I was in Melbourne but I'd just returned from the USA so I kept looking at price tags andsaying, "Gosh, that's expensive." Now I'm acclimatised to Perth prices, Melbourne seems cheap again.

  5. Hey Kylie! I shopped up a storm in Typo yesterday. I bought the measuring spoons for my sister for her birthday. I haven't moved on to xmas shopping yet, still on birthday shopping, mum and sis both have birthdays in the next week. One thing I did buy was a tape dispenser for my office but I'm going to have to return it - the should-be-sharp tape cutter thing is blunt and won't cut the tape, therefore completely useless. Ugh, such a pain, I hate returning things. Good on you for being so organised with your xmas shopping. Cute wrapping too :)

  7. Gosh, I'm going to have to duck down there this week ... I ALWAYS find more for me than anyone else (especially when I'm on a gift-buying mission).

  8. I saw all these lovelies today too and have made a list for pay day this week. I found a beautiful aqua coloured photo frame for my work room, but it was the only one and it was damaged :( Pressies look great in that paper!

  10. What fun gifts! I think I really need the measuring spoons. so cute. I love washi tape too, and use it with abandon! It is a bit on the expensive side, I agree with you.
Kylie, you won my give-away - you have to choose which image you'd like, and I'll send the calendar and print a.s.a.p.
    Have a great day!
Your blog is fantastic, by the way.
